Why we do this

When a heart stops, the first few minutes decide everything.

In rural North Carolina, EMS takes far longer to arrive. Until it does, a trained bystander is the only thing standing between a cardiac emergency and a good outcome.

Carolina Pulse certifies healthcare workers, students, and professionals in Chapel Hill in AHA BLS CPR. That work funds what we care about most: free, volunteer-led CPR education for students in the underserved, high-response-time communities across North Carolina that need it most. One business, one mission, put lifesaving skill in as many hands as possible.

Every minute without CPR costs a life its odds.

Survival is roughly 50% when CPR and defibrillation happen immediately, falls 7 to 10% each minute without CPR, and settles near 5%. Overall, only about 9% of people survive, because most never get that immediate response. That gap is what Carolina Pulse trains people to close. Who's teaching you

Real AHA-certified instructors

You will train with named, credentialed people, not a faceless company. That is who is in the room with you.

AJ

Anderson Jarvis

AHA-Certified CPR Instructor

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

I saw the numbers during my EMT training: survival drops fast without CPR, and in rural communities EMS can take nearly twice as long to arrive. I started Carolina Pulse to put that skill in more hands before help gets there.

FH

Faith Harwell

AHA-Certified CPR Instructor

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

I teach CPR because I want everyone to feel capable when someone needs them, whether that's a loved one or a stranger.
