Why we do this

When a heart stops, the first few minutes decide everything.

In rural North Carolina, EMS takes far longer to arrive. Until it does, a trained bystander is the only thing standing between a cardiac emergency and a good outcome.

Carolina Pulse certifies healthcare workers, students, and professionals in Chapel Hill in AHA BLS CPR. That work funds what we care about most: free, volunteer-led CPR education for students in the underserved, high-response-time communities across North Carolina that need it most. One business, one mission, put lifesaving skill in as many hands as possible.

Every minute without CPR costs a life its odds.

Survival is roughly 50% when CPR and defibrillation happen immediately, falls 7 to 10% each minute without CPR, and settles near 5%. : Yes. Pass the skills check and the short test, and you get your Official AHA eCard. It stays valid for two years.
